Engage All-Stars is a year round sports league dedicated to children with disabilities.
The idea started from the son of Rick Morris. Austin Morris was born January 1, 1999 at 23.5 weeks gestation. He weighed 1lb 7oz. and was 12.5 inches long. After spending 7 months in the hospital he came home on oxygen. Life was not easy for Austin. Growing up he always had a love for sports. He had many opportunities to play but as he got older his safety became a major concern. Austin had reached the age where he could no longer play sports and he was devastated.
This is where the story begins...
While Austin was younger his dad was his coach. He had a conversation with Rick about his desire to play baseball once again. Rick began searching for all kind of leagues and had no success.
During the conversations that Austin and Rick had he asked why he was unable to play baseball anymore. In the same conversation Austin asked if there was something wrong with him. People are always making fun of him and calling him names.
Baseball was the one thing that made him feel good about himself. Since Rick was unable to find anything for Austin to get involved with he decided to create a league for Austin and many just like him.
In 2012 Engage All-Star was born.
